Bihar Politics: Makar Sankranti will be celebrated by Pashupati Paras at his home in Kautilya Nagar with a lavish dinner on January 15. There are plans for the event as related by the party spokesperson Shravan Agrawal and it’s a major event in the political calendar of the state of Bihar.
The theme of Makar Sankranti also coincides with the date of 14th January and so Bihar is gearing up for the Dahi-Chura feast and when it comes to politics in Bihar this event is important for several reasons, the assembly elections being in the list of important. The tradition of celebrating such gatherings before or after the elections is still alive in Bihar, so Pashupati Paras, the leader of the Rashtriya Lok Janshakti Party (RLJP) and former Union minister, also made no exception to this trend and bathashed food.
Important Political Figures will be Invited
The invitation in general is to a political rally where Chief Minister Nitish Kumar, RJD leader Lalu Prasad Yadav, and a guest of honor Arif Mohammed Khan the Governor all will be in attendance along with leaders from other political parties. There have however been some questions about whether Chirag Paswan, Paras’s nephew and an NDA ally, will receive an invitation. On this occasion, the RLJP has also made a big statement.
Dahi-Chura Feast Set For January 15
As he revealed, the RLJP spokesperson also informed about one of the promotion policies held by the late Ram Vilas Paswan, who used to prepare Dahi-Chura every Makar Sankranti and invite every political leader, which let to be Pashupati switched to serving as the parliament party leader. In this spirit, Narendra Singh extends this practice. This year, the banquet will take place on 15 January at Paras Chakravarty’s official residence in Kautilya Nagar, Patna.
Paras is set to touch ground Patna on Friday, thereafter, he shall proceed to reach out to the Governor Mohd Khan and Chief minister Nitish Kumar irreverently, and Lalu Prasad Yadav, Tejashwi Yadav, Jitan Ram Manjhi. Along those lines, RLJP state president Prince Raj will send out invitations to other important guests including Jan Suraj’s founder, Prashant Kishor, BJP’s president in the state Dilip Jaiswal, Deputy Chief Ministers of Bihar and other leaders, Upendra Kushwaha and Mukesh Sahni.
There has been no invitation sent to Chirag Paswan.
Formal Paswan stated that it is Bihar’s pride to wear like that which Hibarnates and thus this event is primarily a socio- cultural opportunity for everyone to indulge in Anuse and Paswan chides the people of Bihar by telling them, ‘Bihar first, Bihari first even though he does not practice it in his own life We will not invite him then and that is our party’s decision.’ Agrawal said further could explain in this respect that Chirag Paswan and his members as other MPs from his group will make their colleagues from the faction go without the invitation to the feast.
This clearly points out the divisions in the Paswan clan and the shifting political stakes in Bihar ahead of the critical assembly elections in the state scheduled for later in the year.
