Tragedy Strikes: ‘Family Man 3’ Actor Rohit Basfore Found Dead Near Guwahati Waterfall
Rohit Basfore, an actor famed for his role in the web series The Family Man 3, was spotted dead close to Garbhanga Waterfalls in Guwahati on 27th April 2025. It is reported that the actor drowned while enjoying a picnic with friends, which has left the entire entertainment industry along with his fans in deep shock and mourning.
The incident took place at around 2 PM in the afternoon and local people reported it at 4 PM. The police came to the scene at about 4:30 PM, Basfore’s body was found only by 6:30 PM even after interacting with police as they had to undergo a lot of procedural work to get the assurance of the State Disaster Response Force (SDRF) team. Initial assessment reveals no suspicious activities were undertaken as it seems that the drowning was the cause of death. The police are pending the postmortem report.
Rohit Basfore’s unfortunate demise has affected a number of people who were close or worked with him. The Leads of The Family Man, Manoj Bajpayee also expressed their grief on social media without shying a beat posting “May god bless your soul with peace Rohit Basfore!! Gone too soon! Our condolences to the family!!”. This is further proof how impactful his loss is to the industry along with his loved ones.
Just days before the event, Basfore had updated his Instagram with excitement about working on The Family Man 3. In one of his posts, he captioned, “On the sets of Family Man 3. It was a great experience and I always loved to learn new things.” He also posted photos with his co-stars Jaideep Ahlawat and Dalip Tahil, further portraying the unity within the sets. Those posts stand as a bittersweet reminder of his zeal towards acting, as well as of his last project.
Family Man, which was and still is to this day a piece of collective entertainment created by Raj & DK for Amazon Prime Video, saw it’s first release in 2019, second in 2021. The third one Basfore was part of, which was highly anticipated, will now serve as his last performances. As tragic as it sounds, losing his life will be painful for many, but from his constant works, performances, and shows, he will live forever in our hearts.
