The film and Sugumaran received praise from critics for the raw portrayal of societal tensions in the south. Sugumaran further cemented his directorial prowess with Raavana Kottam in 2023, featuring Shanthnu Bhagyaraj. In 1999, Sugumaran’s journey in cinema began under the mentorship of legendary director Balu Mahendra.
